温家宝:增强人民币汇率弹性以缓解外部失衡

    中国国务院总理温家宝日前指出，中国应该逐步增强人民币汇率的弹性，因为这是缓解外部失衡问题的重要措施之一这是政府高层领导首次在讲话中将汇率与国际收支问题直接联系在一起，温的讲话肯定了中国央行行长周小川周二发表的类似讲话。周小川说，如果贸易顺差扩大，人民币可能加快升值尽管面临来自包括美国在内的贸易伙伴的压力，但之前中国政府一直倾向于淡化汇率在解决国际收支问题上的作用；一些经济学家认为，在从3月5日开始的全国人民代表大会之后，美元/人民币的交易区间可能被放宽中国的贸易数据将在3月10日左右公布。
