任志刚:香港人民币存款增长对货币管理影响有限

    香港金融管理局总裁任志刚表示，香港的人民币存款最近迅速增长，但这一现象是市场的自然发展，对香港或内地的货币管理影响有限。

    任志刚日前在金管局网站“观点”专栏发表文章说，香港的人民币存款在今年2月底上升至478亿元，比1月底上升18%，与去年同期相比则激增92%。今年3月的数据仍在统计之中，但相信同样会有较大的升幅。有分析人士认为这会影响港元地位和内地货币管理。

    任志刚说，香港人民币存款的较快增长，其实只反映其基数较小。香港的人民币存款在2月底为478亿元，只占香港存款总额的0.8%，相当于港元存款的1.7%。人民币存款的增加显然不会像一些评论认为的那样足以影响港元地位。香港居民基于汇率与利率走势，选择将港元转为人民币，但也并没有导致港元汇率转弱，港元兑美元汇率仍处于较联系汇率7.80偏强的水平。
