开放式基金能不能参与股指期货?

    某基民问：开放式基金能不能参与股指期货？

    长城基金答：目前政策允许基金参与股指期货交易。那么基金在判断大盘可能下跌时，就有两种选择，一是预期大盘下跌，率先卖出股票；二是做空股指期货，用股指期货做空的盈利弥补股票下跌带来的亏损。

    但是对于2007年9月之前发行的基金如要参与股指期货基金管理人应当根据基金合同的约定以及法律法规的有关规定，制定股指期货投资方案并召开持有人大会进行表决，并对基金合同进行相应修改。由于召开持有人大会的难度较大，其实从某种程度上来说，未将股指期货列入契约的基金其实很难再参与金融衍生品交易。
