最大的黄金ETF基金——StreetTRACKS继续在现货市场上加仓黄金头寸，其认购量上升了7.4吨。同时，该投行跟踪的13只大型黄金ETF总的黄金持仓量达到了925吨。“显示了投资者长期持有黄金的兴趣依旧保持在记录高位。”该份报告总结认为。

    摩根士丹利分析师Hussein Allidina进一步认为，黄金ETF的持金量仍有进一步的增长趋势。“黄金ETF持有黄金的数量已经超过了欧洲央行的持有量，同时这些ETF基金的发行正在向新兴市场上扩展，例如迪拜。”Allidina还认为，近期黄金的供给量已经较难满足这些市场需求了。统计显示，在2001年时黄金产量达到了顶峰，但在接下来的三年中，黄金的产量预计会下滑。
