保监会:保险保障基金规模达80亿

    保监会主席吴定富日前透露，截至2006年底，保险保障基金规模已经达到80亿元。

    “一旦有保险公司退出市场，清理资产不足以赔偿投保人资金的时候，保险保障基金可以为投保人的利益提供保障。”吴定富在28日的中国保险发展论坛上表示，“我们不需要财政支持，也不需要人民银行的再贷款，完全依靠行业自己的保险保障资金，就可以处理保护投保人利益的问题。 ”

    保险保障基金是根据《保险法》的要求，由保险公司缴纳形成，在保险公司被撤销、被宣告破产等情况下，用于向保单持有人或者保单受让公司等提供救济的法定基金。2005年1月1日，《保险保障基金管理办法》开始实施，意味着保险业在金融业中率先建立了市场化的风险自救机制。根据规定，保险保障基金的资金运用以安全性为首要原则，限于银行存款、买卖政府债券和保监会规定的其他资金运用形式，不得运用于股权投资、房地产投资和其他各类实业投资。
