西太平洋与荷兰合作银行:人民币今年升值料逊预期

    西太平洋银行(Westpac Banking Corp.)与荷兰合作银行(Rabobank International)指出，为抑制投机炒风，中国今年允许人民币升值幅度可能落后市场预期。

    人民币兑美元今年来计涨1%，涨幅落后印度卢比的8.3%与马来西亚令吉的3.1%。中国人行第1季外汇储备暴增1360亿美元(2461亿3000万新元)，整体达到1万2000亿美元，显示中国为保护出口商盈余，扩大抛售人民币汇价。

    人民币升幅未达预期，令摩根大通银行与高盛等看多人民币的汇银大感困惑。随着中国通货膨胀加速上升，市场普遍预期人民币年度升值幅度将超过9%。此外，人民币升幅未达预期也招致美国财长保尔森的批评。

    保尔森订于5月22-24日与中国副总理吴仪会晤，届时将讨论如何降低中美两国贸易失衡。

    澳洲第四大银行西太平洋银行驻新加坡高级汇市策略师尚卡罗(Sean Callow)表示，“人民币的升值幅度令投机客与美国同感失望。”

    尽管美元加速走贬，人民币本月来上涨0.10%报7.7263，创下去年4月来最小升幅。美元兑欧元本月来挫贬1.5%，在历史低点游走。
